Whether your hearing aid has developed a minor fault or requires more extensive attention, we are able to diagnose and resolve a wide range of issues across leading brands and models.

 

We provide both convenient in-store assessments and, where appropriate, postal repair options, giving you flexibility to suit your needs. Each device is carefully inspected, repaired using high-quality components, and thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance before being returned. Our aim is to minimise disruption to your daily life by restoring your hearing aid promptly and effectively.

Who can get their hearing aid repaired at Amplifon?

Amplifon's hearing aid repair service is available to most people who need professional support with their devices, with the exception of those with Costco devices.

Anyone supported by the Hearing Services Program (HSP) is welcome to get their devices repaired with us. If you are supported by the HSP and are not currently an Amplifon client, you must transfer to Amplifon as your provider to access the hearing aid repair service. You must also have an up-to-date maintenance arrangement in place. Our team can support you through the relocation process.

Private clients are also welcome to access our repair services. Charges may apply if your devices are out of warranty, and an appointment fee may be required in some cases.

In addition, WorkCover clients may be eligible to have repair costs covered under their insurance arrangements. Our team can help you understand eligibility and guide you through the process.

How much does it cost to repair hearing aids?

The cost of repairing hearing aids can vary depending on the type of device and the specific components involved, such as whether the hearing aid is rechargeable or requires additional parts like a charger.

If your devices are still within the warranty period, the repair costs are typically covered. At Amplifon, all device purchases include market-leading 5-year warranty, offering added protection against unexpected expenses.

However for out-of-warranty repairs, the device is typically sent to the manufacturer for a full assessment, and a quote from the supplier will be required to determine the final cost.

Does Amplifon provide temporary hearing aids?

Our stores are not obliged to provide a temporary hearing aid while your device is being repaired. 

However, for customers who have the Ampli Card TOTAL care package, a loan hearing aid may be supplied to help maintain hearing support during the repair period. This additional benefit is designed to minimise any disruption caused by being without a device. Availability is subject to device availability in clinic, and therefore a temporary device cannot always be guaranteed.

Steps for getting your hearing aid repaired

Book an appointment

1. Book an appointment

First, you need to book an appointment at your nearest Amplifon clinic. At this appointment a hearing care professional will examine your device, identify the issue and determine whether the repair can be handled in-clinic or requires intervention from the manufacturer.

Bring the device

2. Bring the device to clinic

During your visit, you will be asked to bring your hearing aid to the clinic for a full assessment. If the issue cannot be resolved on-site, the device will be sent to the manufacturer for repair. At this step, if your care plan includes it and a device is available, you may be provided with a temporary loan hearing aid to support your hearing while your device is being repaired.

Collect the device

3. Collect the device 

Once the repair is completed, you will be contacted to return to the clinic to collect your device. During the collection appointment, your hearing aid may be checked and adjusted to ensure it is working correctly.

How long do hearing aid repairs take?

Hearing aid repair times can vary depending on the type of fault and the manufacturer involved. In most cases, repairs are completed within 10 working days (around 2 weeks). This timeframe covers the full process, including diagnosis, repair, testing, and return of the device.

For customers with the Ampli Card TOTAL care package, a priority repair service may be available to help reduce waiting times where possible. However, this service is still subject to the manufacturer’s own processes, workload, and repair capabilities, meaning expedited turnaround cannot always be guaranteed.
