Noise (whistling, beeping & hissing)

You may experience some whistling, beeping or rustling noises when using your heading aid. The main causes are: 

  • The silicone tubing is obstructed. If obstructed, the tube is unable to transmit sounds properly and this can produce an annoying whistling noises. 
  • The adjustments are incorrect. A whistle, in fact, can also be caused by inappropriate adjustment of the hearing aid. 
  • Occluded auditory conduit. A whistling noise can arise from other causes that cannot be attributed to the hearing aid itself. For example, a plug of earwax occluding the ear canal may be the cause of the whistling. Whistling should not be tolerated or ignored, but eliminated. The hearing aid has fallen off

It may occur that your hearing aid falls on the ground. In this case, all you can do is check that everything is in order and in case of breakage, make sure to pick up all the pieces. Take it to the nearest service center. Oftentimes, it is just a matter of changing the outer shell. 

The hearing aid has become wet

The fact that the hearing has come into contact with water may not always cause problems. First and foremost, one must take into account the amount of water that the hearing aid was exposed to. For instance, sweat or rain, oftentimes does not cause any problems. However, if the hearing aid falls into a swimming pool, once you fish it out, turn it off immediately, remove the battery, and wrap it in tissue paper. If you have the chance, make sure to take it to a specialized center as soon as you get a chance. If you are unable to, a good home method is to use the device's dehumidification accessories (such as salts or desiccators). Alternativelym, you can fill a glass with rice and place the battery-free appliance wrapped in tissue paper on top of it. Lastly, cover the glass with a small dish. 

Hearing aid no longer turns on / off

If your hearing aid no longer turns on, the first thing to do is change the battery: the problem, in fact, may simply be traceable to that. The hearing aid is too quiet
