The ST. ALi Italian Film Festival is the largest festival of Italian cinema in the world. Presented by Palace Cinemas, the festival runs across Australia each Spring, screening a curated selection of new and classic Italian films — from award-winning drama to documentary, comedy and more.
Opening in mid-September and closing in mid-October, the 2026 edition reaches multiple cities nationwide, each with its own dedicated programme.
Sound in cinema is not background — it is an integral part of the story. A film's dialogue, score and sound design work together to carry emotion, build tension and give meaning to what appears on screen.
The importance of sound in cinema is something audiences may not consider until it becomes an issue. Hearing loss is often gradual, and its effects on everyday experiences — like watching film with friends in a theatre — can go unnoticed for years. A routine hearing check is the easiest way to understand your current hearing health.
If you are attending the ST. ALi Italian Film Festival this Spring and have noticed changes in your hearing, Amplifon clinics are located across all participating cities. Whether you are looking for a first hearing check, exploring hearing aids, or simply wanting to make sure your hearing is at its best, Amplifon's specialists are on hand to help.
