How it works
Do you often find yourself asking others to repeat themselves? Or, are you often told you’re speaking too loudly, or turning the volume up too high on the TV?
If you suspect you may be suffering from hearing loss, our online hearing test can help you decide if you need to seek professional help. Here’s how it works.
1. Quick and easy set-up
The Amplifon online hearing test will take less than five minutes, and gives you a score out of ten at the end to indicate the quality of your hearing. All you need is a pair of or earphones with the sound adjusted to the level you’re usually comfortable with.
To help with this, use the Audio Listening tool you’re presented with before you start the test. Tweak the sound level until you can hear the voice comfortably and clearly. For more precise results, we recommend you don’t use your computer speakers.
2. Take the test
During the test, you will be presented with six sounds clips depicting everyday scenarios, such as people talking in a busy bar or somebody asking for directions in the street.
At the end of the clip, you will be asked a question on what you’ve just heard and must pick from four options.
Once you’ve answered the six questions, you will be given a score out of ten and a recommendation based on your test results. If the home hearing test detects you may be suffering from hearing loss, we recommend you book online for a free hearing test with one of our expert audiologists.
3. What next?
When taking an online hearing test, it’s important to remember its limitations. While today’s technology is advanced, online tests are only to be used as an indication.
Anyone who suspects they may be suffering from hearing loss should seek assessment from a qualified audiologist. Booking is free, easy and can be done online by filling out just a few questions.
