There are over 300 Amplifon clinics across Australia, so our service is readily available to help you. You may be eligible for a range of hearing services funded by the government. When should you get a hearing test?

We strongly recommend getting your hearing checked every year. However, there are signs and symptoms of hearing loss that you should look out for so it becomes more of a priority.

Hearing loss is a very common problem - it’s something that affects 3.5 million Australian adults. The good news is that there are many provisions and services in place for those people who experience it.

Why are hearing test and assessment different?

A free hearing test is the initial 20-minute test completed by one of our hearing care professionals, where the outcome of your test will help identify whether or not you have some form of hearing loss.

A hearing assessment, or comprehensive hearing test, is then recommended to complete if your initial free hearing test identifies hearing loss.

Still unsure? We can help book an appointment that suits you

Common signs of hearing loss

  • Friends and family say your television is too loud
  • Struggle to hear in noisy environments
  • Often saying ‘pardon?’ in conversations
  • Telephone conversations are difficult to understand
  • High pitched sounds (e.g. women & kids voices) are hard to understand

What hearing test should i choose?

When do I need a comprehensive hearing assessment?

If you've said yes to the signs above, this will suit you. This 1-hour comprehensive hearing assessment with an audiologist will give you a thorough evaluation on your hearing levels and help decide what actions to take to improve your hearing.

What is the quick 15-min hearing check?

This is an initial test to detect any signs of hearing loss. You will be played a series of sounds through a set of headphones. All you need to do is press a button each time you hear them.  The results will decide if you require a comprehensive test
