Hearing difficulties are different for everyone. Some people have difficulties understanding low-pitched tones and others high-pitched tones, some people don't hear the phone ringing and others can't understand the words of a film on TV. In the same way the solution is different for everyone.

For this reason, as well as using traditional audiometric tests, Amplifit also shows real-life scenes, using high-quality films about 30 seconds long. The test is very interesting for the client, and is carried out interactively, with the client and the hearing-aid specialist sitting side by side.
| |
Scenes from different situations are shown on a computer monitor: home, leisure, work, transport, countryside, with six types of sounds in total: normal speech, speech in a noisy environment, speech with an echo, quiet sounds, loud sounds, musical sounds.
| |
A sequence is chosen for each client on the basis of the sound environment, which he lives in.
| |
Questions appear on the screen for the client to answer.
| |
At the end of the test the computer produces a graph of the results, which is kept on file as the hearing profile of the client.
| |
The computer compares the results with data related to normal hearing in the same situations.

After being fitted with a hearing aid, the client tests it for a certain period of time and then returns to the Amplifon centre to take the Amplifit test again. In this way the client can see for himself the improvements in his hearing.
| |
At this point the hearing aid can be adjusted again if necessary. In second-generation aids, the computer is directly connected to the hearing aid and can adjust it in order to get the best results.

Amplifit is a method used in Amplifon centres, and is used when a person tries out a hearing aid for the first time or in all situations where a better solution is required, in all cases personalised to the specific needs of the client.
